I did look at the DVLA website and see if the old Lotus was registered, but it came back empty - so I assume the poor thing has died...

Like most people posting here the Tf did not replace a car. I know they have followed an MGB for lots of people, but we have kept our B, it's been here so long it just wouldnt be right to sell it.. The every day hold all continues to be the Fiat Estate, or as they call it "weekend" which I bought a year old at the auctions for not very much money, I chose a day when Sixt were selling of a chunk of their ex rental fleet. That was 10 years ago and it now has a value so close to zero that while it gives good service I may as well keep it and get zero depreciation .
After doesnt apply either, i may add that Scottish VVC to the fleet if no one on here has aquired it yet, I'm hoping to avoid that as I dont want to sell any of our present cars.

Here is the other pic i wanted, this goes back 2 generations of everyday drivers. The BX was around for about 10 years, I liked it so much I kept it as shopping trolley after I aquired the ex Fiat fleet Tempra TD. That was an amzing car it achieved 55MPG Scotland to home once, and after I put a set of KYB sports shocks on it it handled like a sports car. I gave it to my daughter but in fact my son in law used it for years for his job and the still got something for it when they sold it on.
(those KYBs were finished in neon orange B) )

this was the previous drive..... before.....

and after........ this was the first car i've 'played about with' and all started because it broke a rear spring and there was a full set of 30mm lowering springs and bilstien shockers on ebay cheaper then the price of a pair of rear springs, it may just have been a crappy 2l diesel but boy did she go round corners and so the darkside began......

if Dora ever has to go........ mmmmmm...... probably a S2000 if i could afford the insurance or a large comfy estate type of car

I had company BMWs & MINI's the time I got my MGF but If you exclude them then it was a Rover 25

Plan on selling within the next 12months to get a TVR tamora ( or earlier if a yellow one came up lol )

if money was no object it would be a Ferrari 250 GTO :woohoo:

Dan :)

:D I may not always be right..... BUT I am NEVER wrong lol :D

Of course all the missing components of my garage carry an Octagon

The MGB in the background is ours, we saw this blown J2 again at the top of the Nailsworth ladder and it wagged its tail on the wet road as it took off, not bad for 850cc.
And for anything that wouldnt fit in the TF MGB or J2 one of these, sutably modified of course, 1380cc gas flowed head 5 speed Ford type 9 gearbox ....

I notice the MG6 doesnt feture in anyones dreams

I used to own a 1948 MG YA, cross ply tyres, in built jack up system, wind out windscreen, and a steering wheel (baker lite) that adjusted for reach!

I have an MG6 on loan and to be fair it is quite a good car :)
