Indeed, happy new year Len, sorry to hear you are departing ownership.
Can I without incurring the wrath of Fellow F and Tf owners suggest a complete volt face ?

I also own a Morris Minor, tax and mot exempt, cheap to run and spares are in abundance.
A fun car with a large owners club, MMOC.ORG.UK
As an old crock I know the Morris is easy to get in and out of, designed long before ergonomics became a thing, but very comfortable, so I keep mine ready for the fateful day I also cannot afford to run the TF and struggle to get in and out of it.
Just a thought.

In the distant past I had an A40 Farina Countryman, a car of which I was inordinately fond. When I graduated to a more modern vehicle it entered the family car pool, where it continued to serve well. Until, that is, my brother got hold of it whilst renovating his cottage, where he ruined it.
Comprehensively! ! !
I would have another in an instant if/when age prevented me fro using the f.
After all the Frogy sprite isn’t much more than an A40 in a sporty frock.

I'm a great fan of Morris Minors and the idea was to quickly finish my MGB project car and move on to a Minor. (That still hasnt happened as work on the B got bogged down but then I cheered myself up by buying a TF)

The only problem I see with a Spite/Midget is that they are a prick to get in and out of when the roof is up, even worse than the F/TF!

Ah that’s why I’d have an A40. All the performances bits from a sprite will bolt onto a 40, Besides I have an A series performance manifold somewhere & one of Mr Webbers twin choke carburettors somewhere else. One is waiting for the other.
If you have a look at the Goodwood Revival on YouTube, it won’t take you long to find a few 40’s giving it stink & up against much bigger cars.

The Goodwood Revival races are epic!
Talk about David and Goliath!
Those drivers are fearless and throw those old cars around so brilliantly overcoming any deficiences in suspension...they don't back off.

The A40 and the other Farina cars are definitely worth a look for anyone looking at classics of that age.
