Free big brake upgrade

My big brake upgrade is available for Zilch
As most of you know rust got the better of my TF, I have very successfully sold just under £3000 worth of parts on Ebay and the final bits went to the scrapyard yesterday but I have the big brake kit which any member of the forum can have FOC. Notanumber was originally going to have it but then realised finishing his GT was more important than swapping brake parts on a TF, I fully understand that, a part of my decision to scrap the TF was down to getting my GT on the road. I have put it on Ebay but although I have had a few watchers but no takers, so if anyone would like it then it is theirs FOC. The spec is Mini R53 front callipers fitted with ATE ceramic pads and 294mm discs at the front end and 276mm MX5 discs for the rear where you use your existing TF callipers. This includes the hubs which all had new bearings fitted just a few thousand miles ago and new ball joints at the top of each hub. The downside is you will have to use either 4 x 100 PCD (MX5) wheels or re drill the discs to take the TF wheels. Have a look on Ebay to see the photos, take no notice of the price they are free!

That is indeed a very generous offer. I'm sorely tempted but cannot get away for a week or so.  Still a couple of days in Taunton is tempting as well!

I would far rather give it to someone on here than sell it to someone who won't either appreciate or understand it. There is no hurry to collect.

This really in an excellent conversion and a genuine offer from Phillip. I was to have them for my Mk2 TF but the penny dropped that I am in the middle of an engine swap on my MGB GT. Thats my project car that last stalled for many years and with me, the only way I can be sure to finish it is to devote all my free time to it. The TF, like my daily car, now will only have essential maintenance & MOT pass work whilst I focus on the GT.
I was very keen on taking up Philiip's offer of the brake conversion but this would have been wrong as I realised the parts would have stayed in a box in a corner of the garage for months or possibly years which would have been highly selfish. It's much better that another forum member has the benefit and will properly appreciate them.
