The ding dong battle continued between rog1963 and Tsleight with both making good progress. rog1963 has leapfrogged himself into 4th place. David Aiketgate continues to make steady progress and is now just one point behind Bryan Young who occupies 7th place.
A special warm welcome goes to imaestrow who joined the MG Quiz winners this week.

1) Really struggling to find the Artist name! :bang:
2) K3 Magnette
3) Tazio Nouvolari racing (normally associated with Alfa Romeo, with Alec Hounslow as co pilot/mechanic
4) 1933 R.A.C Ulster TT at Ards circuit
Although he broke many class records apparant;y if he hadn't deliberatly missed out a final fuel stop he may have lost to a J4 Midget 750CC driven by a MG dealer Salesman.........can you imagine Jensen finishing his race on Sunday and and turning up for work to sell cars in the show room on Monday morning!!! amazing.
Now for that Artist name....the race is on so to speak!
Although I also need a question, the reason I did not answer David's Bellvue Special question....
Turned to the Darkside, K&N Apollo and extra bling fitted.52mm TB

The artist’s name was Bryan de Grineau (born Charles William Grineau) 1883 - 1957, who also went under the alias of John Bryan. More info on him here. http://www.motoringart.info/pdf/deGrineauBryan.pdf
Have a look at the sketch ‘Brake testing at the MG factory 1932’ on page 7. I think it is wonderful.
The car is a 1087-cc. K3 Magnette, which had the preselector planetary self-changing gearbox, operated by a fore-and-aft quadrant on an extension of the gearbox top. Even by modern standards they were phenomenally fast and could have comfortably left a 1961 MG-A.
It is being raced by the Italian driver Tazio Nuvolari, whose moniker was Il Mantovano Volante (The Flying Mantuan) who Ferdinand Porsche described as “The greatest driver of the past, the present, and the future.”
His co-pilot (mechanic) was Alec Hounslow. There is a great piece on the race which makes for interesting reading. Apparently, he hadn’t seen the car until practice day and needed the gearbox explained in sign language and the odd Italian word as he didn’t speak a word of English. Have a read: http://www.ddavid.com/formula1/tt3.htm
He also won the Ards race in 1930 driving an Alfa Romeo.
The Race is the RAC Tourist Trophy (known as Ards TT) and was run in County Down on closed roads encompassing Newtownards, Comber and Dundonald. The race ran from 1928 to 1936 when tragedy struck when Jack Chambers, a Belfast driver, crashed into the crowd killing eight people. The race never ran again.
I borrowed an MG book last night and this picture was the first in the book and I thought it would make an interesting question. i knew nothing about the artist / driver or race. I’ve found the research on this one very interesting and once again it’s led me down some interesting paths. Isn’t the quiz amazing?
Hope you've got that question sorted gadget. Very well done :woohoo:
Oh and here is the artist at work ... dangerous occupation:
