I wonder if it was a different colour previously?
There are soft top roof dyes available, some also recommend using their pre-dye solution to help it "take". I've used one of the dyes on mine, and it has made an appreciable difference.

I have a Perspex one fitted , and haven't had any issues with it. I would say to be careful when fitting one of these, as the T-bar fixings can be very close to the bend radius on the wind deflector, which could lead to cracking and failure there, due to vibration causing wearing at the contact point.

You can drive the vehicle from an MOT station to a place where the repairs are to be performed, even if it's your home address. And it's legal to drive a vehicle without a valid MOT to an MOT station, as long as you have an appointment for an MOT test. I have made sure of these recently, as I've been in that situation.

I would try the actions mentioned earlier, and maybe a cylinder compression check. See if there's a lot of coming from the crankcase breather (Sign of piston ring blow by) Are the plugs getting oily? Is the engine using oil?

If it's condensation, try removing the bulbs, and as I did, use the blower function of a workshop vaccum cleaner to blow through one of the orifices. ( Presuming you can blow clean air!) The air from the blower is usually warmer, so it'll clear the moisture after a while.
