Sir Thomas Sopwith designed the aircraft which bore his name in WW1. His grandson Thomas Sopwith is chairman of Rivervale who recently opened an MG dealership in Brighton.

Seems that the present Thomas Sopwith is at least the 4th Thomas Sopwith in a row. Sir Thomas' father was also Thomas and I assume Sir Thomas' son Thomas "Tommy" Sopwith the 1950/60s racing driver and team owner to be his father.
