Given that the occupant(s) is/are a clue I would suggest the 1 ¼ litre although, again. given the occupants what is ½ pint in litre terms!! :woohoo:
I may be old but I’m not senile:-
It’s just that I can’t remember whether it’s Alzheimer’s or Amnesia

Apologies for not replying sooner, the forum doesn't appear to be sending me email notifications any longer.
What I am looking for on this particular Y-type, as opposed to the general model type, is a nickname by which it is fondly referred and there are some clues to help identify this specific car and it's location.

??? Looking at the photo you posted MartinW I see the car is at an inside venue. The colouring of the floor and walls is reminiscent of the Gaydon Motor Heritage Centre and probably every other indoor motor exhibition
Having had a look at the Gaydon collection they do have a 1953 MG YB saloon, Len Shaw’s ‘semi-works’ rally car. :yesnod:
... but it's the wrong colour :slapme:
Ah well.... whistle while you work, whistle while you work, la la la la la la la ....it's off to work I go, have fun

That'll be "Little Gem"
The late Tim Pennicott has very generously left his YB to the MG Car Club. After some discussion between The Club and the Y register, The Club has decided to keep her and base her at Kimber House where she will be able to be on view in the new wing. More importantly she is to be driven and a programme of events for her to attend is to be planned. It is hoped that she will make her first official appearance at the Classic Car Show at the NEC latter this month and of course we want to welcome her to our Spring Run next year. It has also been suggested that she might be used to show visitors to Kimber House around Abingdon using the old test routes. Whatever happens we want as many people as possible to be able to enjoy the pleasures of this classic saloon and any suggestions to this end would be very welcome.
In order for all this to happen she needs to be road worthy and safe so Neil Cairns has volunteered to take her under his wing and bring her up to scratch. I am sure you will agree we could not have a better man for the job. Neil is also keeping a diary of Little Gem’s journey from her arrival at Kimber House to her appearance at the NEC.
At least , I think it is.......
