Adding Spotlights to MGTF - wiring help needed pretty please!

Hi guys, I am new here!  I do hope you can all help me.. I purchased some spot lights and a fitting kit for my TF, and I have them in place etc but am left with a couple of cables that I just have no clue where on earth they go/where to wire them into?  I have attached a few pics of where I am with it and the wire in question..in the hope one of you has done this job before?!  Thanks ever so much!

Roverlike “how to’s” cover fog light fitting & wiring, make that your first port of call.
There hasn’t been an instance where, having referred to any of Roverlike’s contributions, that I’ve been left in doubt about the subject in hand.

Hi. Click on How To Guides on the top menu bar then go down to Lighting and there is a section on fitting spotlights. Is yours a Mk1 TF (square key fob) or Mk2 TF (round key fob) as the fuse boxes are different

Hi so I have read the "How to's" on the front fog lights... and I must say that I can't quite work out where the only two cables that I have left, are meant to attach to lol This is mainly due to the fact that the whole loom I purchased came with its own in-line fuse, fog light button & connector etc, so I really only need connect the two wires to goodness knows what two wires lol...any ideas at all? (Sorry to be a complete pain)!!

I gather you got this lot second hand, hence the lack of instructions.
So I give you my  best educated guess, as when these things are second hand, who knows what exactly the previous owner got up to.

Those remaining two wires......is one the black/white trace wire with the eye terminal? and does that wire come from the multi pin terminal plug that connects to the relay?
If so that needs to be earthed.
As for the other, it that the red/white wire with the end stripped? and does that come from the fuse holder? and does the other wire from the fuse holder go to the terminal plug of the relay?
If so that stripped wire needs to connect with a live source of power.

The green plug with the coloured wires should probably go to the switch.
You also seem to have some stray bits of coloured wire and another green plug with some black wires hanging out of it, these I suspect are just left over bits that were unused and as such could probably be discarded.... but not yet! Wait until the project is completed and working.

There is obviously more to this than included in the pix, I assume you had no difficulty figuring out where all this went but please feel free to make further enquiries if needed.

These wires?

As Cobber says red wire - permanent live and black wire -  permanent earth.
Looking at the connectors, they are probably intended for attaching to the battery terminals.

Thank you SO VERY MUCH for the responses so far - at last I don't feel alone in all of this !! :-)

OK so I have attached a few more pictures... I have worked out the the wires and green connector that I figured were 'spare' are in fact for the connector to the rear of the fog light switch! My question with all of this is, does anyone know in what order they are supposed to be going along/clicked inside of the green connector, or if in fact it makes difference? The second Question is; where do each of the ends of these wires go/get joined to?!

My next (and easy) question is - I presume this is purely an earth that comes from the start of the loom near the actual fogs, that I can earth to anywhere on the body?

OK so moving onto the next couple of pics and Questions (lol!).. you will see that from the loom itself, I have two units that come off from it.. one I presume (to the right in the oic) is a transformer of some kind?! and the one to left of the pic (with 'AD' written at the top) is an in-line fuse? So both the BLACK and white and also the RED and white wires pictured in the last pic (with connectors already on them) both come through the transformer, through the in-line fuse... so I presume these are positive and negative wires? In which case any ideas what they should be going into?  BUT also, wher eon earth does the green connector go to?! Its only got a RED and a BLUE wire going into it, and these come from the loom that goes thorugh the transformer also....Thanks so so much - i'd love to get this sorted :-)
