SRS light on

I’ve just realised I have copies of the circuit diagrams on my netbook which lives in my motor caravan & so I can see the wiring in detail.
Firstly the diagram lists the SRS fuse as 10a & after connection (1) on the ignition switch a black wire with a yellow tracer runs to junction P101. After that is a white wire to the 10a fuse, after this it is a green wire to the airbag controller.
If you remove the fuse from its holder, ensuring good contacts are made & measure the voltage & find full battery volts, which then it drops to 7v on load, I would be suspicious of the controller.
It will be the first controller I have experienced to have failed by the unit drawing enough current to drop 12v down to 7v. One would imagine it would be getting hot around the transistors which fire the ‘bags & belt fireworks.
I’m sure if that was a fault condition the fuse would have splattered.
Look for more clues & keep us posted.

I will have to correct you as you are looking at improper diagram. MG F mk1 diagrams are not part of RAVE you are looking. MG F mk1 clearly states SRS fuse 5 amp.

You have ignition switch in between as said above. If you remove SRS fuse and measure voltage do you have 12 Volts or 7 Volts?
Can you measure voltage on fuse number 14? With fuse and without fuse?

I accept your admonishment. I am a little hamstrung in having only copies of the T-Bar downloads.
I would have turned by habit to Dieters website & studded that; it is a wonderful distraction, besides
I have a great affection for his site as I was a regular visitor during my formative MGf days.
I will be an observer henceforth until I’m home & am surrounded by my normal facilities, lest I make other errors.

After a week, no further signs of the SRS light. With thanks to D4KGP. It was the passenger seat connector.
