Paul - a starter for 10
2011 - MG6 - First all new MG for 16 years - What about the MG X-Power SV (2002) - before John bangs on about it
Production TF and Magnette ZAs use a *501 VIN start, from BMC’s Birmingham headquarters telephone number
NOT AS STATED 101 - that was for the TF at Longbridge

:bust: That's very good, very good all correct and not the one I was after.
The mistake I'm after relates to a recent question I set, the devil's in the detail. MG Motors have given it the wrong engine :bang:
I have the bill of sale to prove it

As you see the 100,000th MG, the LHD MGA was a 1600 not 1500 as stated on the MG Motor website.
see here
Mr Forgetful, for all you research and for spotting the other errors, you deserve the win :woohoo:

Now sir, I am confused.com - this is, is it not the 100000th MGA which was a 1600 in 1962 because I understood (and you are a better MG fanatic that whot I is Gunga Dinn) that the 100000th MG was a MGA in 1956 and that the twin cam and 1600 didn't come along until 1958/9.
Now I knows my place - bottom of the heap but is I right or is I wrong. I feel a little like Oliver asking for more :bust:

I am confused too, all of the records i can find shows that the 100,000 MG was a Left hand drive 1500 MGA in 1956, this one is dated March 1962 would the chassis number of 107,989 give a clue :yesnod:
