I'm going potty :pinch:

It’s not the right answer but - PRIVATE money/development

William Morris/Lord Nuffield (pictured with a Morris Oxford (flatnose))bought Wolseley Motor Group with his own money £730K in 1927
Thus the picture of an illuminated Wolseley car badge. I cannot identify the specific car as these were common onmany and I can remember - ah, don't want to go there :nonod:

The Rolls Royce Merlin engine PV12 (private venture - no government money involved) was the next step from the Kestrel and ran in parallel with the Peregrine and Buzzard. Loads more info but it's not relevant. :nonod:

The MGF was the next step up from the MGB and developed without government support.

The K series engine was largely financed by DTI

100000 I haven't the faintest idea and if it is specific conrods or bore liners (wet or dry) I'm going to ring the Samaritans (again - last time they said they were too busy and they don't do quizes anyway)

What a Mk2 F had and a TF doesn't - comforable suspension and, no, the Merlin did not have hydrospastic pistons liners

I give up

I may be old but I’m not senile:-
It’s just that I can’t remember whether it’s Alzheimer’s or Amnesia

14.5:1 sounds like the compression ratio of a diesel! Which lead me to think the theoretical CR of a super-charged engine, thinking of the MGF Cheetah, but then again I don't recall the Wolsely or Morris having a supercharger unless it was their engines used in a supercharged pre-war MG. But then again I am probably widly off-track here.

Could you please forward a supply of the "pills" you are on as I too wish to live in more harmony on my planet Zog and it might keep the "voices in my head" quiet for a while :yesnod:

I assume this is a picture of The Simpsons - I'll research Rolls Royce, Wolseley, Lord Nuffield and MG but *********** if I am going to research Homer - apart from the IIliad. :coat:

14.5:1 - are we now into Stiffness Determination ?
The stiffness in shear direction is caused by the dowel effect of the reinforcement bars through the interface [Fig.14.48c], and assumed to be half the stiffness in the normal direction [Fig.14.48b].

If you don't specify the free length, then DIANA takes the `thickness' of the interface element for it. However, if this thickness is equal to zero, then a virtual thickness of 10-5 x the distance from the first to the second node of the interface element is assumed.

The Samaritan's phone line is engaged :bang:

:bust:

It's pictures isn't it, you don't like pictures

OK in words, from the beginning including the shoutbox clues

£100,000
(and this man) William Morris / Lord Nuffield
(to here - a place) the clue being Wolseley
(in here - they made them for these too) Rolls Royce Merlin engine, amongst many others
They (MG) all had them
The early MGF's all had one from them, however the MG TF had one from somewhere else

Now the Photos
Rich Hall
George Formby
Frank Skinner

As I said the item changed over time but still controlled the same function

The ratio 14.5:1

Homer strangles Bart ? another word for strangle?

Come on Ted compared to cryptic questions you've posted in the past, this can't be that hard surely

I was about to post Tilly's Orafice ? :nonod: That's R.A.E restrictor, it was normally referred to under various names, such as Miss Tilly's Diaphragm or the Tilly orifice in reference to its inventor, Beatrice "Tilly" Shilling.

Shoutbox - I never look there :nonod:

Cryptic - hmmmmmmmmmmm I shall try the Samaritans again. :-?

My local branch of The Samaritans - goody :woohoo:

Geronimo - is that another clue because if it is I shall "throttle" you. I will now have to try and think of a link between North American native tribes and MG - was there a MG Dakota I wonder!! :-?
