MG T-Bar Quiz
you can't see the wood for the trees. stop over complicating it.
Reading the question and the clues may have also helped
The question asked you to identify a recent event
OK taking a look at the clues to the venue, you've all correctly identified Crystal Palace.
The recent event, given by the 2012 Olympic 100m, was a Sprint
So you have the event, that just leaves you looking for an MG link between Leigh Ping and a female Knight.
Put them into google and you should be back here in 2 mins with the link identified.

It will be all right in the end. If it isn't all right yet, then it is not yet the end..

Quite interesting, they've been around for 30 million years but this particular one is from the 1930's.
During the thirties bonnet mascots became a very popular. Many marques strove to craft a mascot that would typify their brand.
An initial sighting of the Midge was found in an advertisement of the May 1934 issue of “The MaGazine”. The ad confirms that the Midge was produced by H.J. Randall in Birmingham and was designed especially for MG car owners. It was also offered in 2 sizes: large and small.
According to historian Mike Worthington-Williams, “The MG Midge was only found on the 1935 ‘P’ type MGs”. However, despite its intended use for only the ‘P” type, it did appear in factory literature and was primarily sold as an accessory by University Motors Ltd, London.”
Late, in the July 1936 issue of “The Sports Car”, the previously referenced ad was repeated but instead now included the MG logo and words: “Obtainable from All MG Agents”. So this seems to affirm that a privately offered Mascot had been sanctioned and adopted by MG

However, the Midge had a short life. According to Worthington-Williams, the image it projected was found a little undignified and was therefore only formally offered with the 1935 ‘P’ Type.

One day John, one day.....I will confound the Mighty Brethren! but not anytime soon I fear!
Midge mascots appear at automobilia auctions quite regularly if anyone fancies one on the bonnet of their F or TF! Probably illegal now though unless spring loaded etc.
Another slice of Quiz Pie for you Sir! Well done.
Over to you!
