Figure out what words go in the gaps to get the first and second name.

First name: "______ Thornley was instrumental in setting up the MGCC"
Last name: "Elementary, my dear ______"

Now that you have the name, please explain this individual's role with the MGCC and then link that to the model of MG and why the year 1964 is significant.

So answers should be:
First name
Surname
MGCC role
1964 relates to what?

John. Watson
Chairperson MGCC
1964 is the year of his Mk 1 MGB, currently MGCC car of the month.

It will be all right in the end. If it isn't all right yet, then it is not yet the end..

OK an easy one from me today -

How did MG set multiple class world speed records in one day, with the same car? Which car, who was driving and where?

96 MGF 1.8i: Project Rally Car
98 MGF Abingdon" 285H cams, modded head etc
87 MG Metro: 1440cc fast road car
88 MG Metro Turbo
70 MG Midget: 1.9L VVC + supercharger + RWD = YEEHAA!
72 MGBGT: Project Speed 6 MGB
05 MG ZT-T 260: wife's sensible car
01 MG ZS 180: LHD, for driving around Germany in

Stirling Moss, Bonneville Salt Flats.
Modified MG with blown twin cam engine.
Aug 23 1957
5 UK and 5 US records broken
Class F: 1100 to 1500 cc
Best speed 245.64 mph
Car was nicknamed the Roaring Raindrop.

How'd I do?

It will be all right in the end. If it isn't all right yet, then it is not yet the end..

I'm afraid not, that was only one class... perhaps I should have worded the question better, but multiple classes, not multiple distances.

If you mean this http://www.onthewire.co.uk/lucymg.htm, then no.

I should clarify, according to internet sources records were set on consecutive days on the same trip (I always thought it was the same day - I must reread my copy of Maintaining the Breed, will have to dig it out when I'm at home in NZ in October).

Goldie Gardner?
1951. Rebored the car overnight from 1100 to 1500 and got records in the same car?

It will be all right in the end. If it isn't all right yet, then it is not yet the end..
