The first is a picture of a Jaguar C-type (or maybe a replica), the second is an MG C-type (looks to be a non-supercharged car), which was a "production" race car based on the Magic Midget, EX120, record breaker driven by George Eyston, the chap in the last photo. EX120 in turn was based on a modified M-type chassis.

70 MG Midget: 1.9L VVC + supercharger + RWD = YEEHAA!
72 MGBGT: Project Speed 6 MGB
05 MG ZT-T 260: wife's sensible car
01 MG ZS 180: LHD, for driving around Germany in

All boxes ticked, as usual!! Copybook answer, well done.

George Eyston was another motoring great: well worth googling for anyone that's maybe not heard of him.

Over to you for the next Q!!

It will be all right in the end. If it isn't all right yet, then it is not yet the end..

Captain George Edward Thomas Eyston has been a regular in the MG Quiz. I think this was the 7th or 8th question to feature him, his cars or achievements.

Must agree with you John, his achievements and those of his contemporaries are quite outstanding. The bravery, ingenuity and determination they displayed make for fascinating reading.

What was significant about the 16 May 1956, in MG terms?

You're not really trying, are you?

On Wednesday, 16 May 1956 the 100,000th MG was produced. This was the LHD MGA 1500.

It will be all right in the end. If it isn't all right yet, then it is not yet the end..

Yep, it is a bit time-consuming!

OK, apologies if this theme has been done to death!!
