The font of all things MG is the bright spark to to charge straight in with the positively correct answer, the car which was predicted to become the electric MG, the Roewe E1 which has been renamed the Roewe E50.

Here is a photo of said steering wheel.

OK, a simple one:

What component supplier to MG was often referred to as the "Prince of Darkness"?

Lucas?

It will be all right in the end. If it isn't all right yet, then it is not yet the end..

Correct! Mainly owing to the poor lighting on classic MGs, I believe.

Next question, please.

Joseph Lucas, the founder of Lucas Industries was humorously known as the Prince of Darkness in North America, because of the electrical problems common in Lucas-equipped cars, especially British Leyland products.

Whether the fault lay with Lucas or British Leyland cost-cutting is open to dispute. As Joseph Lucas died in 1902 and British Leyland was not formed until 1968, some 66 years later, this title is undeserved.

This perception is also be connected with early supply problems of "King of the Road" lighting products within the North American Markets during the early 1900s, and also be attributed to the reputation that in vehicles the company used small gauge wiring, which tended to wear out or corrode quickly.

Above extract from Wikipedia - Lucas Industries

Well done John, another win to you.

I remember (un) fondly the Lucas petrol injection system fitted to 6 cyl Triumph engines: 'nuff said!

Busy today, so question will be a quickie! Back soon.

It will be all right in the end. If it isn't all right yet, then it is not yet the end..
